چکیده
Methods Quasi-experimental before-after study in a 14-bed medical-surgical ICU in Argentina. Consecutive patients on mechanical ventilation (MV) >3 days, over a preand a post-intervention (Pre-I and Post-I) period were included. In each period, we recorded: epidemiological variables, reason for admission, severity-of-illness score on admission (APACHE II and SOFA24), duration of MV and ICU stay, nurse-to-patient ratio and ICU mortality.
